D: What brings you here today?
의사: 어디가 불편하셔서 오셨나요?
P: My menstrual cycle has always been on the irregular side, but I have gone over two months without menstruation. So I took the pregnancy test recently, and it showed that I am with a child.
환자: 제가 생리 주기가 불규칙한 편인데 2달째 안 해서 임신 테스트를 했더니 임신이라고 나와서요.
D: I see. Congratulations! Okay, then let’s start with an ultrasound first and confirm your pregnancy.
의사: 아, 그러셨군요. 축하드립니다! 먼저 초음파부터 해야 합니다. 임신 확인은 초음파로 합니다.
P: All right.
환자: 네, 선생님.
(The patient moves into the ultrasound room with the nurse. Shortly after she is settled on the bed, the doctor comes in.)
(환자는 간호사의 안내를 받아 초음파실로 이동한다. 침대에 누워 있은 지 얼마 후 의사가 온다.)
D: It might make you feel a little uncomfortable, but don’t worry. (The doctor shows and explains the ultrasound image to the patient.) I see a gestation sac in the uterus. Do you hear those heartbeats? Congratulations! You are six weeks into it.
의사: 조금 불편합니다. 놀라지 마세요(의사는 초음파 검사를 하면서 화면을 환자에게 보여준다). 여기 자궁 안에 임신낭(아기집)이 보이네요. 심장 소리가 들리세요? 축하드립니다. 임신 6주입니다.
P: Thank you, doctor.
환자: 감사합니다. 선생님.
D: Please step into my office again.
의사: 다시 진료실로 오세요.
(The patient returns to the doctor’s office with the nurse.)
(환자는 다시 간호사의 안내를 받아 진료실로 이동한다.)
D: Congratulations again. Is this your first child?
의사: 축하드립니다. 첫째인가요?
P : Yes. Actually, I had a miscarriage a year ago in the early stage of pregnancy.
환자: 네. 사실 1년 전에 임신 초에 유산한 적이 있습니다.
D: I’m sorry to hear that. As you already know, you should be especially careful in the early stage.
의사: 그러셨군요. 임신 초기에는 특별히 조심하셔야 합니다.
