(D = doctor 의사, P = patient 환자)

D: Hello, how may I help you today?

P: Well, things like hair strands seem to be floating around in front of my eye.

D: We will have to run more detailed tests, but you seem to have floaters.

P: What should I do about this, then?

D: Well, the eye liquid gets murky either naturally or because of some pathogen. The natural murkiness indicates fiber buildup in the middle of the eyeball or the separation of the rear eye duct. In such a case, no treatment is required. If floaters, however, are results of an infection, hemorrhage associated with diabetic hypertension, the deformity of the retina, or uveitis, you will have to undergo retinoscopy.

P: What do you recommend that I do now?

D: Most cases of floaters are brought about by natural causes, so you might not require any particular treatment. Floaters come and go, so we can wait for them to disappear. Yet I would still recommend that you get precise tests to determine if there are any pathological causes involved.

P: I see. Thank you, doctor. That helps.
