Mother: Could you get me a doctor right now?
보호자: 아이를 빨리 진료 볼 수 있도록 도와주세요.
Nurse: What happened?
간호사: 무슨 일이죠?
Mother: My boy had a burn in his hand from boiling water.
보호자: 아이가 뜨거운 목욕 물에 손을 데었어요.
Nurse: Here, let me dip his hand in cold water right now. (The nurse takes the child into the treatment room to dip his hand in cold water.) Now I’ll lead you to the doctor.
간호사: 얼른 찬물에 식혀야겠어요. (간호사는 아이를 데리고 먼저 처치실로 데리고 가서 찬물에 아이 손을 담근다.) 먼저 진료를 볼 수 있도록 도와드리겠습니다.
Mother: Thank you. (The two walk into the doctor’s office.)
보호자: 감사합니다. (잠시 후 진료방으로 들어간다.)
Doctor: Hello, ma’am. I hear that your boy had a burn. What happened?
의사: 안녕하세요. 아이가 손을 데었군요. 어쩌다가 그러셨나요?
Mother: I was gathering hot water in the bathtub, when he suddenly appeared out of the blue and put his hand into the tub. I drew his hand out as soon as I could, but it got all red and swollen, which is why I brought him here. The nurse here dipped his hand in cold water.
보호자: 제가 목욕물을 받고 있었는데 갑자기 아이가 나타나 손을 담갔어요. 놀라서 얼른 뺐지만 빨갛게 부어 올라서 바로 병원에 데리고 왔어요. 간호사님이 찬물에 식혀 주었어요.
Doctor: I see. Let me have a closer look, boy. Well, it doesn’t appear serious. It’s a first-degree burn. It’s really nothing serious. I will dress his hand to mitigate the pain.
의사: 어디 봅시다. 아가 어디 보자. 심한 화상은 아니군요. 그래도 빨갛게 부어 있어 통증이 심할 것입니다. 드레싱 해드릴게요.
Mother: Do you think he will be all right?
보호자: 괜찮을까요?
Doctor: You don’t have to worry. Let me put some ointment on and dress his hand with wrap. I’ll prescribe him a painkiller as well. Come back tomorrow.
의사: 너무 염려할 정도는 아닙니다. 연고 바르고 붕대로 감아드릴게요. 아프니까 먹는 약도 드리지요. 그리고 내일 다시 오세요.
Mother: That’s good to hear. Thank you.
보호자: 다행이네요. 감사합니다.
